Legislative speaker Nadendla Manohar presented the ‘Sri City awards 2012’ to twenty companies based at Sri City SEZ (SCSEZ) in the district on Thursday.
Amphenol, Eura, Everton Tea, Pals Plush, NUI Pulp and Paper, Premium Ingredients, RN Photocoatings, Rockworth, Shan Solar and Venture Automotive won prizes in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), while Alsthom, Danieli, IMOP, Kobelco cranes, Kobelco construction, Lavazza, VRV Asia Pacific shared the honours in the Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ). Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Frontier Lifeline emergency medical centre won awards under the ‘institutions’ category, while Arvind Varuna associates and Shimizu Corp were given awards for support services.
Mr. Manohar said that the government had always stood by industrialists and entrepreneurs in the State.
“The need of the hour is employment and we are sure that Sri City will provide growth impetus.”
Sri City Managing Director Ravindra Sannareddy traced the journey embarked upon by him four years back that met with overwhelming success. “In spite of the recession witnessed in Europe and the US, companies reposed faith in Sri City and invested in it,” he noted. Minister for Social Welfare P. Satyanarayana, Satyavedu MLA H. Hemalatha and Development Commissioner (Sri City) Anil Bamba took part.
