Railway Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector Kesavabhatla Srinivasa Rao was given state government’s May Day `Srama Sakthi’ Award on Wednesday in Ravidra Bharati, Hyderabad by Minister for Labour D. Nagendra. Mr. Kesavabhatla is the first person to receive this award from East Godavari from Railway department and he already got `Best Ticket Checking Officer’ award in South Central Railway region from former Railway Minister Mamata Benarjee two years ago.
According to state labour department officials, Mr. Kesavabhatla was selected for Srama Sakthi award on his pivotal role not only as Railway employee, but also as social worker by establishing Kesavabhatla Charitable Trust in Rajahmundry and serving Railway working class and auto drivers through many schemes including life insurance.
He was felicitated with a memento, certificate and shawl by the minister on this occasion. On winning the award, Rajahmundry station manager B.H. Subrahmanya Sastry, senior Auditor V. Bhaskarram, Lieutenant Jasti Murthy, MD of River Bay Hotels, his colleagues M. Adivishnu and AR Prasad congratulated him.
