VISAKHAPATNAM: Noted dermatologist G. Raghurama Rao received the Dr. B.M. Ambady oration during Dermacon 2010, the 38th national conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL), held in Lucknow recently.

Dr. Raghurama Rao, a former Head of the Department of Dermatology of Andhra Medical College and King George Hospital and who has done a lot of research on cutaneous anthrax, delivered the Dr. B.M. Ambady oration on “re-emergence of cutaneous anthrax-epidemiological and clinical study”.

He was the first dermatologist from AP to receive the prestigious award and it was also for the first time that the oration was webcast live.

Dr. Raghurama Rao received the award from president of IADVL Hemangi Jerjani.

The oration was started in 1976 and the first speaker was the famous doctor V. Ramalingasway, former Director General of WHO and Director of AIIMS (New Delhi).
