The Vidyadharapuram depot of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has received a special award for being one of the 10 depots in the state that had a track record of no accident to its fleet in the last five months and more.
Depot Manager S. Bhavani Prasad and the team of supervisors of the depot received the award from Minister for Transport Botcha Satyanarayana at a function held in Hyderabad on Thursday as part of the ongoing 22nd Road Safety Week celebrations. APSRTC Chairman M. Satyanarayana Rao, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director B. Prasada Rao and others were present. A cash award of Rs.10,000, an appreciation letter and a shield were handed over on the occasion.
Mr. Bhavani Prasad said Vidyadharapuram depot was the only depot in the Vijayawada zone of the Corporation, to bag the award.
