Aurobindo Pharma workers on Monday organised massive protest in front of the plant alleging that the management had completely ignored the welfare of the staff and failed to implement the previous agreements entered in the presence of labour officials.

Around 1000 workers raised slogans against the management and sought the intervention of the district administration to resolve their pending problems. CITU leader P. Tejeswara Rao, Velamala Ramana, Aurobindo Pharma Workers Union representatives Ch. Ramu Naidu, and vice-president K. Guru Naidu alleged that wage agreements were ignored for the last nine months.

They alleged that the company was violating all the norms by recruiting them through outsourcing agencies.

According to them, labour laws and wage agreements were not being implemented for the canteen staff and workers of the power plant located within the factory. Many workers were not regularised even after five years of service.

The representatives of the workers union met the executives of the management and made it clear that they would intensify the agitation and go on strike if their problems were not resolved within one month.
