Andhra University and IBM on Saturday signed an MoU to help the university get better training and education to face the competitive IT field.
Registrar of AU K. Rama Mohana Rao and IBM’s local centre head D. Rajvel signed the MoU in the presence of Vice-Chancellor G.S.N. Raju, IBM’s DGM (academic initiative) Lawrence Mohanty, AU Rector E.A. Narayana and AU College of Engineering’s professor P.S. Avadhani.
Prof. Raju said the IBM was helping the AU students and thanks to the MoU the students would get training through the computer giant’s faculty.
A professional certification in various technologies would help students get employment quickly while his or her capabilities would make the difference between getting hired and being left out. This was the area the IBM programme would focus on, he added.
Mr. Rajvel said the programme was part of IBM’s global academic initiative.
