The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) activists, here at Bhagath Singh Chowrasta on Friday, staged a rasta roko and burnt the effigy of Harvinder Singh who slapped the Union Agriculture Minister and the NCP president Sarad Pawar in New Delhi yesterday. Strongly condemning the attack on Mr. Pawar the NCP activists demanded that the attackers be punished severely so that such incidents did not repeat in future.

They claimed that Mr. Pawar did a lot for the welfare of farming community in the country as he was instrumental in waiving farm loans in the UPA-I Government.

The NCP State general secretary Ashok Kumar Tiwari, joint secretary D. Sainath, party district president Chandrakanth and general secretary Gangadhar Yadav participated in the protest demonstration.
