Music lovers can look forward to some scintillating music on Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao's 88th birth anniversary here on December 3. “We are organising a 12-hour music festival from 12 noon to remember the popular singer and music composer,” Navarasa Kala Vedika founder-president A.R. Laya told reporters here on Thursday.
The music programme would start with the popular “Bale manchi Roju” song after paying “Pushpanjali” at the statue of the great musician, who dominated the Telugu film music for over 25 years singing in all over 10,000 songs and composing music for more than 100 movies, he said.
Over 1,000 songs would be sung in memory of Ghantasala, who also rendered devotional songs, including the revered Bhagavad Gita.
Actor Giri Babu would be honoured with ‘Bahu Kala Praveena' on the occasion, he added.
