HYDERABAD: Senior Praja Rajyam leader Ch. Harirama Jogaiah on Saturday announced his resignation from the party to create a new platform for crusading for a separate Andhra State.

The party’s ideological spokesperson, Katti Padma Rao, too announced his decision to quit.

Mr. Jogaiah said he had sent in his resignation to the party president K. Chiranjeevi in a short letter saying he had reasons for quitting which he would explain later. In Mr. Padma Rao’s case, he said he was waiting to meet the party president and seeking his permission to work for a separate Andhra.

If that did not happen, he would quit, he said.
