TIRUMALA: In the backdrop of the havoc caused by the cyclonic storm ‘Laila' in the coastal districts of the State the TTD management has decided to postpone its Laksha Gala Govinda Namarchana programme slated to be organised on the banks of the river Krishna at Vijayawada on May 27.

Briefing the media persons the TTD Chairman D.K.Adikesavulu said that the board also resolved to construct S.V.Mandirs at various Dalitwadas in the State after working out the required modalities. In the same vein it also resolved to organise the Govinda Kalyanams in the districts of Visakhapatnam and Ananthapur.

In another major decision the board also decided to extend the benefits of health insurance to all its retired employees.

It was also resolved to request the State government to provide required land at the adjoining Surappakasam, Ramireddygari palli and Karakkambadi villages for the allotment of house sites to all the TTD employees.

The board also endorsed the TTD Executive officer I.Y.R. Krishna Rao to discuss the issue of enhancing the grant of Rs.50 lakh being provided to the Dravidian University every year.

Here it may be recalled that the authorities of the Dravidian University urged the TTD to enhance the grant being provided to it to Rs. 1 crore during this year.

The board also resolved to takeover the temple at Bethur village in Bhopal spread over six acres of land as requested by its temple authorities and also accept the donation of landed property in a prime area in the central Chennai.

It was also resolved to provide a financial assistance of Rs.10 lakh each to Akshaya Kshetram and S.V.Natyakala Parishad at Tirupati.
