Genesis Foundation to conduct it

GUNTUR: Genesis Foundation, which is running the IAS Academy, will hold a mega talent test in Guntur on Tuesday at 10 a.m. for all students and candidates aspiring to appear for several competitive examinations to test their skills. The test will be conducted at Ambedkar Bhavan, opposite A.C. College.

Foundation's representative B.M. Solomon said that separate question papers would be given to students wishing to take coaching for Group-I and II, junior lecturer, RRB, bank clerk, PO, UPSC Civils, SI or constable.

The top 50 in thee tests would be given free coaching at the foundation's academy, he added.

An awareness programme on 2011 Civil Services Examination would also be organised on the occasion as the pattern of testing had undergone a change.

Minister for Heavy Industries Kanna Lakshmi Narayana and Mahatma Gandhi College principal D.A.R. Subrahmanyam would attend as guests.

The Union Public Service Commission scrapped the Preliminary Test and in that place it opted to introduce Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT), which would be common for all applicants from various backgrounds.

Earlier, people from different background had the facility of opting for a paper of their choice. The remaining two – main examination and interview – would be conducted in the same pattern as before. In the newly introduced CSAT, there would be two objective question papers of equal marks and they would test the candidates in current affairs in national and international events; logical reasoning and decision making, elementary mathematics, quantitative ability and data interpretation from graphics and charts.
