HYDERABAD: An Additional Mandal Revenue Inspector, A. Kasiram, who was earlier working in Hayatnagar of Ranga Reddy district, was dismissed from service following his conviction in an Anti-Corruption Bureau case.

The Additional Special Judge for Special Police Establishment and ACB Cases here sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and pay a fine of Rs. 1,000 or in default of payment of fine, undergo simple imprisonment for three months. He was found guilty of accepting a sum of Rs. 4,000 for issuing a status report regarding change of ownership of land in the revenue records in favour of the complainant who bought the land.

In another case, the government withheld the pension and gratuity in full, permanently, of a Mandal Education Officer, Mohd. Shamshad Ali of Atmakur in Nalgonda district. He was convicted by the Special Judge to undergo rigorous imprisonment of one year and a fine of Rs. 1,500 and in default, to suffer six months simple imprisonment. He was found guilty of accepting Rs. 3,000 for an official favour in signing on the Group Insurance Claim file of the complainants' father, a press release said.
