Hyderabad: The GHMC has inked yet another sister city pact, this time with Indianapolis of United States with Mayor B. Kartika Reddy and Indianapolis Mayor Gregory Ballard signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Tuesday at the municipal head office.

Through the pact both cities have agreed to encourage contact between respective business communities to develop mutually beneficial opportunities for promoting economic development. Both the dignitaries vowed to pay special attention to economic, cultural and technological exchanges with emphasis on information technology, pharma, engineering and agriculture. “We heard a lot about Hyderabad. And now we are happy to see for ourselves the tremendous strides made by the city,” said Mr. Ballard, accompanied by several NRIs in his delegation.

U.S. Consul General Cornelius Keur observed that the capital was in the forefront of educational, IT and BT fields and the pact will help improve ties not only among the cities but also both countries.
