VISAKHAPATNAM: ISKCON Utsav, a three-day grand cultural festival, will be organised from April 30 at ISKCON Land in Sagarnagar to commemorate the 500 {+t} {+h} sanyas anniversary of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Announcing this at a media conference here on Tuesday, Mathaji Nitaisevini said bhajans by renowned singers like G. Balakrishna Prasad, Parupalli Brothers, Jaya Gayatri Sisters and others would be performed during the festival. Spiritual discourses, dance dramas, homams, recital of Vishnu Sahasranamam, Bhagavadgita and mass annadanam were among the daily features.

“Besides, as many as 100 stalls will be set up displaying various products and spiritual articles of ISKCON. Food courts, merry-go-round and giant wheel for children and games will be other attractions. Special buses will be run from Kali temple and RTC complex to ISKCON venue in Sagarnagar,” she said. Of the recent activities, Mathaji Nitaisevini said that it had established state-of-the-art mechanised kitchen for midday meal at Sagarnagar that could prepare food for 25,000 children within four hours. It also had two specially designed delivery vans which keep the meal hot and 500 stainless steel containers to carry food, special rice cleaning automatic machine, etc., had been procured.

Homoeo clinic

A free homoeo clinic was also started on the premises, which would treat patients every Sunday evening. A week-long Bhakti Yoga summer residential camp would be held for children in the age group of 9-15 years, where they will learn yoga, meditation, music, dance, philosophy, hiking, art and craft, aerobics, puja, Sanskrit, Gita slokas, public speaking, drama, painting, etc. Interested should enrol on or before April 30. President of Vizag ISKCON Samba Das and advisory board member Sheila Makkar also spoke.
