Met officials warn that maximum temperature may hover around 43 {+o} Celsius

Monday registers another new high of 42.5 degrees Celsius

March 2010 declared as one of the warmest months ever recorded

HYDERABAD: For all those who will venture out on Tuesday, here is a piece of advice. Protect yourself properly from the heat and brace yourself to experience yet another hot day of the month.

Met officials warn that the maximum temperature may hover around 43 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday, with Monday registering another new high of 42.5 degrees Celsius, a notch higher than Sunday's high of 42.4 degrees Celsius.

Heat wave

The State continues to reel under the heat wave affects which began in late March. Incidentally, March 2010 has been declared by the Indian Meteorological Department as one of the warmest months ever recorded with above normal temperatures in most regions of the country.

The report released by IMD also pointed out to a probability of April being warmer than normal in most parts of the country. And so far, the report has not been far from the truth. A day-to-day observation of the temperature in different stations throws up a departure from normal temperatures by five to six degrees

The current heat wave is being attributed to winds blowing from Vidarbha region over the Telangana region, meteorological officials informed.
