HYDERABAD: A 35-member Africa-India Economic Mission on Agro-Industry is visiting Hyderabad from February 28 to March 5 to foster partnerships between Africa and India in agricultural research, soil and water conservation and management, bio fuels, fresh produce management, knowledge parks, seed value chain and equipment.

The Brussels-based international organisation EMRC in partnership with the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) is facilitating the mission.

The mission comprising delegates from different regions of Africa, will visit ICRISAT on March 2. ICRISAT Director General William Dar hoped that the mission would promote technology to enhance livelihood opportunities of smallholder farmers.
