Blue kerosene is originally given to BPL families for cooking purpose
GUNTUR: In one of the biggest seizures of its kind, the Vigilance and Enforcement Department on Wednesday seized 9,600 litres of blue kerosene from an isolated place near Kanyaka Paresmeswara temple.
Basing on information provided by those who were arrested on Tuesday, the police led by Inspector Rajasekhar raided the outlet and seized the huge quantity. This is the second successive raid where the police were able to seize huge quantities of blue kerosene. On Tuesday, the police seized 1,820 litres from another outlet. Blue kerosene is originally given to BPL families for cooking purpose. But it was being illegally used an alternative to diesel in lorries and trucks.
The Vigilance sleuths seized 10,000 litres of Blue Kerosene in the year 2008. Superintendent of Vigilance Department Vijayakar complimented the efforts of the department personnel.
