KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar district Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) leaders have lodged a complaint with Karimnagar One Town police on Monday evening against the TDP legislator and “Adhurs” film producer Kodali Nani for provoking the regional sentiments and hurting the people of Telangana with his statements.
Telangana students JAC convenor Siddam Venu and steering committee leader E. Ravinder Reddy and others lodged a complaint with Karimnagar One town police station against the TDP legislator for hurting the sentiments of Telangana people with his statements.
They alleged that the film producer after attaining profits by screening the “Adhurs” film had changed his stand and insulting the people of Telangana region with his statements on the formation of separate Statehood for Telangana.
In the meantime, all the cinema halls screening junior NTR starring “Adhurs” film in Karimnagar district have stopped the screening of the film in protest against the remarks of its producer.
The Joint Action Committtee leaders have stated that they would not allow screening of the “Adhurs” film in the district.
Reels of ‘Adhurs’ burnt
Mahabubnagar correspondent writes: Protesting over the statement of TDP legislator Kodali Nani, supporters of separate Telangana burnt the reels of ‘Adhurs’ cinema at Nagar Kurnul town in the district on Monday.
The activists of Congress, TRS and other parties went into the cabin of the theatre, while morning show was being screened and brought out the reels and set them ablaze. Later in the evening, members of JAC burnt the effigy of Kodali Nani.
The supporters of Telangana also obstructed the screening of Adhurs cinema at Wanaparthy, Narayanapet and others towns in the district.
Meanwhile, at Mahabubnagar town the management of Narthaki Theatere where Adhurs cinema was running voluntary suspended its screening.
