Open Minds, a K-12 school, to come up at Gandipet: Yash Birla

Hyderabad: One more corporate school opened in the State capital on Wednesday with the avowed intention of ‘revolutionising education’. Located in the posh Jubilee Hills the 10,000 square foot Globe Tot’ers marks the foray of the Yash Birla group into the education sector.

First facility

Essentially a pre-school, the Globe Tot’ers is the first facility to be launched outside Mumbai to cultivate imagination and creativity for early learners.

In association with DSR Infra at least 50 more such schools are planned to be set up across the State followed by about 30 K-12 schools and teacher training institutes. Open Minds, a K-12 school, will come up in Hyderabad at Gandipet by next year, said Yash Birla, chairman, Yash Birla group.

Emphasis on change

He told presspersons here on Wednesday that he aimed to improve one of the basic necessities of the young generation. There was excessive focus on exams and the present education system needed changes to meet the future challenges.

“Andhra Pradesh is receptive to change,” he said.

BEL chief executive officer Srikrishna said the fee would range from a minimum of Rs. 3,000 to a maximum of Rs. 10,000 per month. In the same breath he said the BEL wanted to reach the common man by making education contemporary and future ready.

Second destination

Municipal Administration Minister, A. Ram Naryana Reddy, expressed happiness that the Birla Group had chosen Hyderabad as the second destination to revolutionalise education.
