Here is another chance for patrons of art and craft to pick up their favourite products from a wide range of handicrafts, following the inauguration of an exhibition-cum-sale being organised by Lepakshi, the popular brand of the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Corporation, on Wednesday.
The 15-day exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handlooms will be on till August 4 at Moghal hall, Moghalrajpuram. District Fire Officer S.V. Chowdary inaugurated the sale.
The ongoing exhibition would enable craft persons and artisans from various states in the country to market their products directly to the customers. Around 60 artisans will participate in the exhibition, offering about 20 per cent rebate on clothes and 10 per cent discount on handicrafts, according to the organising committee. Kondapally toys, Nirmal paintings, Banjara needle crafts, leather items, Bidri art works, brass art ware, crochet lace, Kalamkari cloth paintings, Etikoppaka wood craft, handlooms from Gadwal, Narayanpet, Mangalagiri and Chirala are some of the traditional art forms that would be on display for the customers. Various kinds of jewellery are also being displayed along with handicrafts.
The exhibition will be open on Sundays too, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
