Sub-station attacked

Irate over the irregular power supply, residents of Mardi village in Kalher mandal attacked the power sub-station at Kalher on Sunday.

Alleging that their crops were drying up as they are unable to run bore-wells due to lack of power supply, they held a dharna before the sub-station.

They stayed put for a long time stating they would not rest till an assurance was given over power supply. The officials convinced them to withdraw the agitation by assuring to take the issue to the notice of higher officials.

The villagers of Kanchanapalli in Kowdipalli mandal also held dharna over irregular power supply.
