HYDERABAD: The electors in the 15 Assembly constituencies in the Hyderabad district has increased by 1.46 lakh to little more than 30 lakh in the final electoral rolls published here on Thursday. Significantly, there are about 1.14 lakh first time voters in the list in the age group of 18-19 years.

However, there are nearly 4.5 lakh voters yet to have their photos registered in the electoral rolls as the number of photographs taken have been put at 25.4 lakh. Commissioner S.P. Singh, who released the figures, said that all the details of the electoral rolls will be put up on the GHMC website ( www.ghmc.gov.in) and at all the electoral registration offices of the constituencies.

Mr. Singh, also the District Election Officer, pointed out that the enrolment of names in the voters list was a continuous process. He appealed to the citizens to register their names through the drop boxes at the post offices if they have not done so already.

Among the constituencies, the newly formed Jubilee Hills tops the list of electors with 2.46 lakh followed by Nampally with 2.26 lakh electors. Musheerabad with 2.24 electors, Khairatabad and Yakutpura with 2.17 lakh electors take the other top places.

Charminar with 16.3 lakh electors, Chandrayanagutta with 16.7 lakh, Malakpet with 17.8 lakh, Sanatnagar with 18.3, Bahadhurpura with 18.4 and Secunderabad Cantonment with 18.9 electors take the bottom places in terms of numbers.

Non-photo entries are the highest in Karwan with 73,986 (33.68 per cent) electors not having their photos in the rolls.

It is followed by Nampally (26.07 per cent), Charminar (22.37 per cent) and hold your breath, Jubilee Hills (20.23 per cent).
