A Reserve Inspector at Kondapur battalion of AP Special Police Z.M. Vinod has been placed under suspension in connection with trouble in the battalion following the death of a constable, Payani, while performing duties at Addateegala in East Godavari district.
A press release from APSP Additional Director General D. Gautam Sawang said that Mr. Vinod had been suspended on the basis of evidence gathered during the inquiry into the agitation on the campus. It was revealed that his irresponsible conduct led to the agitation.
The statement added that steps on the demands of the agitating families of the constables, including withdrawal of rotation system of duties while working outstation, permission to go home from outstation duties and camps nearer home, were being taken. They will be implemented after the festivals ahead.
