House panel inspects facilities at Tirumala

The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Committee on Petitions led by its chairman and Deputy Speaker Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka inspected various facilities of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) at Tirumala as part of its agenda.

The six-member committee started its day with a visit to Dharmagiri Veda Pathashala and then proceeded to other places like the Vaikuntham Queue Complex- 2, Annaprasada Bhavanam, Central Reception Office and interacted with the pilgrims, officials and also students of the Vedic school. TTD Joint Executive Officer K.S. Srinivasa Raju who accompanied the team, explained about the various pilgrim amenities.

Speaking to media persons later, the committee chairman expressed satisfaction over the efforts being put in by the TTD to make the visit of pilgrims pleasant and hassle-free. The team which had food at the Annadanam complex said it was palatable. However, the team remarked that the system being followed in allotment of cottages and rooms to the pilgrims needed further improvements to make it less cumbersome.

Other members of the committee were Payyavuyla Keshav, R. Chandrasekhar Reddy, Satyavathi Rathod, and Usha Rani besides TTD’s Deputy EOs Munirathnam Reddy, Rajendrudu, Varalakshmi, Sampathi and Gajapathi.
