Adilabad MP Ramesh Rathod will flag off the inaugural run of the newly-regularised Adilabad-Nanded daily train on July 14. This train is now being run as Adilabad-Nanded inter-city special.

Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, South Central Railway, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Nanded, S.S. Soni said the train in question is the first to be flagged off among the nine new trains or extended runs that have been sanctioned to the Division in the current Railway Budget. He said other trains in the list are scheduled to get operational in due course.

Answering questions, Mr. Soni said a lot of proposals for new trains to be routed through Adilabad are under consideration of Railways. He said proposals for diverting some of the trains running on the Secunderabad-Nagpur line through Mudkhed and Adilabad are also under consideration.

Talking about timber smuggling in trains between Kinwat and Adilabad, the DRM ordered his officials to curb the activity with a string hand. He also said work on extension of the foot over bridge in Adilabad railway station would be taken up soon.
