HYDERABAD: The Lok Satta Party on Monday cautioned voters to be on guard against allurement by candidates like money, liquor and resort to violence in the coming elections and opt for those who were committed to their welfare.

In an ‘open letter’ to voters, party leaders K. Srinivasa Rao and P. Bhakara Rao said they should be alert for the next 60 days so as not to succumb to ‘corrupt’ practices of candidates.

The LSP leaders hit out at politics of money power prevailing in the State, citing the example of the alleged corrupt practices resorted to by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and his family as also huge amounts spent by the Grand Alliance leadership in travelling to New Delhi seeking enquiry against Dr. Reddy.

The leaders congratulated music director A. R. Rahman for winning two Oscars.
