VIZIANAGARAM: Women belonging to Mahila Rajyam, women’s wing of the Praja Rajyam Party, on Friday staged a dharna at the Collector’s Office against the government’s failure to control prices of essential commodities in the market. The dharna was staged as part of the week-long programme of the Mahila Rajyam.

District convenor of Mahila Rajyam Meesala Geetha and State organising secretary A. Katyayani and PRP district convenor M. Venkataramana told reporters that due to the asymmetrical policies of the Congress government, the living condition of the poor and the middle class people was severely affected.

Ms. Geetha said that the prevailing situation was due to wrong policies of the TDP and the Congress governments and called upon the electorate to vote PRP for good governance.

She said that though the Chief Minister had been claiming bumper harvest for the last four years and six months neither the farmers nor the consumers were benefited. Later, they submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector.
