Youth urged to tap the potential of unconventional careers

Rachanoutsav Events Pvt. Ltd., a Hyderabad-based event management company, plans to offer an integrated learning programme in event management and wedding planning through its Rachanoutsav Events Academy.

“We want the city youth to start thinking about unconventional careers, which can be an exciting choice,” academy director Sanjay Kankaria, told a press conference here on Tuesday.

Enrolments under way

Informing that enrolments were on in the just-launched Hyderabad-based academy, he said the local chapter and the one in Visakhapatnam were likely to be launched by this year-end.

“The event management industry is projected to be Rs.5,000 crore by 2015 in the country and, cashing in on the trend, we intend to spread wings by setting up five more own centres and 10 centres in franchisee mode in the next 10 years,” said Mr. Sanjay.

“The academy is South Asia's first institute to offer the unique programme, creating a platform for the youth to let their creative streaks speak,” he claimed.

To begin with, the academy would offer two courses in event management and one in wedding planning.

These include Basic Professional Foundation Course in Event Management (BPFCEM), Advanced Masters Course in Event Management (AMCEM), and Advanced Master Course in Wedding Planning and Designing (AMCWP).

Applicants must have passed 10+2 from any high school Board, CBSE/ICSE/State Board/IB in order to meet the academy's English language requirement.

Admission process

The aspirants should have achieved 60 per cent marks in higher secondary English language, which is equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Admission process would include short-listing of the candidates followed by a simple 30-minute psychometric test for which no preparation is required.

A 10-minute interview would follow and outstation candidates could take the psychometric profiling and scholarship test online and a telephonic interview, or an online interview.

At a press conference here, Mr. Sanjay highlighted the career prospects in event management and wedding planning.

The Rachanoutsav Events Private Limited had over a decade of experience in handling events of clients such Google, Microsoft, Airtel, Godrej, Motorola, Novartis, Femina, State Bank of India, Ramky, Toyota, SAB Miller, Suzuki, Apollo Hospitals, GE Money, and JK Tyres, he added.
