Minority woman cannot be replaced now: Congress
PEDAKURAPADU: The message from the Pradesh Congress Committee and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is now loud and clear rejecting the repeated attempts of Ramki Group Co-Director Alla Rama Krishna Reddy (RK) to get nominated from Pedakurapadu Assembly Constituency.
After Tuesday’s drama in Guntur by the supporters of Mr. Rama Krishna Reddy and a few minorities leaders, the aspirant has been told by the party bosses in Hyderabad to climb down on his demand and that he would be taken care of if the party comes to power.
"The party has decided to give the seat to a minority woman and it cannot go back on it," was the message Mr. Reddy got in Hyderabad.
This clearly shows how well could Narsaraopet Lok Sabha constituency nominee Vallabhaneni Balashourie could convince the people at Hyderabad or New Delhi in getting his people nominated.
The constituency has highest number of Kamma voters followed by Minority, who have been loyal to the Minister for four consecutive terms and also all Kapu voters stood behind him, but the scenario has changed with the emergence of Praja Rajyam.
Congress nominee Pathan Noorjahan is totally new to the constituency. The absence of Transport Minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana will also be felt, though he may be obliged to campaign for the party candidate on a couple of times.
With Mr. Lakshmi Narayana bound to concentrate on Guntur West to ensure a sure victory for himself from a new constituency, he would put his energies in Guntur city meeting every small leader and voter in the municipal wards consuming his time.
Telugu Desam Party is considering fielding Kommalapati Sridhar, who has been nursing the constituency for the past five years and majority of Kamma voters would support him, feel TDP leaders and see a strong support coming from the Backward Classes. Praja Rajyam Party, which was toying with the idea of fielding a minority from here, seems to have zeroed in on a Yadava candidate Anji, who is an ardent fan of Chiranjeevi.
Once an employee with him, Pavan Kalyan seems to have advocated his case under the fans quota.
