Rajahmundry: Hari Krishna Padhee, General Manager, South Central Railway, Hyderabad on an annual inspection visited Samalkot and Rajahmundry railway stations on Wednesday. Ch. Bhaskara Subrahmanyam, station superintendent, welcomed him.
The GM inspected the station for about one hour.
He concentrated on amenities to passengers, civil works, booking and reservation counters on main entrance and also newly constructed east side booking station.
Vasista Jowhari, Divisional Railway Manager, Vijayawada, accompanied General Manager and Chief Engineer Pradeep Kumar, Senior DCM Vijaya Bhaskar, DOM Sambasiva Rao, Chief Commercial Manager Madan Mohan, Chief Security Officer Saxena, PRO Anil Kumar and other officers from Hyderabad and Vijawada followed the G.M. during inspection.
The GM said railways were spending Rs.3.6 crores for development of Rajahmundry railway station, which includes mechanized cleaning, ventilation and free air flow in waiting rooms and tightening security on platforms as well as at booking and reservation counters.
