Guntur District Music Artistes Association on Sunday called on popular singer S.P Balasubramaniyam and urged him to organise a musical nite programme in Guntur to raise funds for taking up welfare activities for artistes.
Association president Muddu Venkata Swamy, secretary B. Babu Rao, and treasurer James Pandey called on SP at Venkateswara Vignana Mandiram where he was felicitated on Sunday. The association members saidthey have been taking up several welfare activities, including provision of house sites, identity cards for music artistes. The association had earlier felicitated Saluri Vasu Rao, veena vidwan K.V. Anantha Sayanam and P. Ranga Rao.
