Chief Minister N. Kirankumar Reddy on Monday hinted that stern action would be taken against his Cabinet colleague, Health Minister D. L. Ravindra Reddy, who had let loose a barrage of criticism against him.

Addressing a media conference here, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy said party leaders would always be given an opportunity to correct their mistakes, but action would be taken if they failed to mend their ways. He said “the wild allegations” of Dr. Ravindra Reddy, who called him a ‘covert' of YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, were being taken to the notice of the high command.

Asked why he was not responding to the allegations levelled by some Cabinet colleagues, he said appropriate action would be taken and indirectly referred to the sacking of his detractor P. Shankar Rao from the Cabinet.

He lashed out at Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy for forcing by-elections on the people for ‘narrow political gains'.

The Chief Minister said the government was making all efforts to better the lot of all sections of people, including farmers and backward classes, and they would ensure the party's victory in all Assembly segments, including Narsannapeta.
