Pulivesham troupe from Vizianagaram impressed spectators at the IPL match between Deccan Chargers and Mumbai Indians, before the commencement of play.

The members of the troupe in fancy dress to look like tigers danced to the beat of drums and drew cheers from the spectators who were engaged in the traditional art form of South India.

After the start of the match, the cricket buffs were in for disappointment as their idol Sachin Tendulkar was not in the playing eleven of Mumbai Indians.

The fans had wanted to see him in action after the incredible achievement of hundred hundreds. Only the lower level stands were occupied at the start of the match and the upper level looked with sparse crowds.

However, the attendance there improved as the match progressed.

Tough time

The cricket fans going from the city to the ACA-VDCA's YSR Stadium at Pothinamallayya Palem had a tough time as they were caught in traffic snarls.

Notwithstanding the special traffic arrangements made by the city police, the bunching of vehicles an hour before the match around 6.30 p.m. saw vehicles move at snail's pace right from Rama Talkies Junction to Hanumantawaka Junction, after which they could wriggle out and move faster towards the venue.
