Governor Rameshwar Thakur asks people to shun violence
HYDERABAD: Governor Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy paid floral tributes at Bapughat here on Monday to mark the 58th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Mr. Thakur told the gathering that people should follow the path shown by the Father of the Nation for a violence-free society. Dr. Reddy described Gandhiji as the embodiment of peace.
He advised those involved in terrorist activities to shun violence and follow the preachings of the mahatma.
Ministers J. Geeta Reddy, Mohd. Shabbir Ali, PCC president K. Keshav Rao, and MPs Anjan Kumar Yadav and P. Madhu were among those who paid tributes at the samadhi.
A cultural troupe led by Vijayalakshmi, principal, Government Music College, Ramkote, rendered devotional songs and hymns from Holy Scriptures.
