Painting contest,


The State Gallery of Fine Arts in Madhapur is conducting a painting competition on the theme, "Buddham Saranam Gachami" on Thursday at its premises.

Participants are categorised into three age groups: up to ten years, up to twenty years and above twenty years. Two exhibitions will be inaugurated at the State Gallery on Thursday, of which one will be an exhibition on cartoons.

A workshop-cum-lecture will be held on Friday.

Young author contest

The Classmate Young Author contest 2005 will be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, King Koti, on Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The theme this year will revolve around the genres of science fiction, thrillers and fantasy. Before the contest, Sudhakar Marathe, Dean of English, Hyderabad Central University, will conduct a workshop on creative writing.

The contest is open to students from Class XI to Class XII and will be held in three stages: school level, city finals and national finals.

Six students of the Brahmam Talent School have qualified for the National level Maths Olympiad by successfully completing the State level Maths Olympiad examination conducted on December 4 by the National Board for Higher Mathematics, Department of Atomic Energy, according to a press release.

EPF Adalat

A Bhavishyanidhi Adalat on the grievances of the members of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation will be held at 11 a.m. on February 10 at the office of the Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, Barkatpura.

Members of the EPF having any grievances may submit the same to the office of the regional PF Commissioner by name to P. Blood bank policy

Institute of Transfusion Medicine and Research (ITMR) Blood Bank on Wednesday announced that it was moving its issue policy closer to common people.

In a statement issued here, the institute said the issue of Whole Human Blood and Blood Components will continue to be totally free in respect of Thalassaemia / Haemophilia patients and also other deserving poor patients.
