Party to include the issue in its election manifesto
Party demands rehabilitation package for migrant labour on the lines of Kerala
Separate cell sought to monitor the welfare of people from Telangana settled in the Gulf
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) will include in its election manifesto the rehabilitation measures it proposed to take up for people from Telangana who are working in various Gulf countries.
At a news conference here on Wednesday, the TRS leader in Assembly, Eatala Rajendar, assured that the manifesto to be released by the party independently would reflect its promises for those settled in the Gulf. He demanded a rehabilitation package on the lines of the one implemented by Kerala government for migrant labour returning from the Gulf.
He also wanted a separate cell to monitor the welfare of the people from Telangana settled in the Gulf. The bodies of those who died there on duty should be brought back to their native places at government expenditure.
Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer on Wednesday cleared the names of ten TRS leaders as star campaigners who were entitled to campaign by the ‘Bell helicopter’ of Deccan Air Lines.
They included TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao, film star Vijayashanti, K. Jayashanker, R. Vidyasagar Rao, K.T. Rama Rao, Desapati Srinivas, Naradasu Laxman Rao, K. Dilip Kumar, J. Santosh Kumar and Rasamai Balkishan. The permission was given on the basis of a representation made by the TRS on Tuesday.
