HYDERABAD: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi made a strong pitch to attract tourists to his State, especially fellow Gujaratis settled all over the world and particularly those living in the twin cities.
Addressing a gathering at a function organised by the Shree Gujarati Seva Mandal on the occasion of `Sampark Setu Divas' here on Saturday, Mr. Modi said the year 2006 was declared the tourism year and "if at least five Gujarati families" from places where they have settled visit the State, it would become a number one tourist destination.
Gujarat was number one State in attracting investments and employment generation besides being the petrochemical capital of the country.
Gujarat Minister for Health Ashok Bhatt, said his State was making remarkable progress under the helm of Mr. Modi. The Shree Gujarat Seva Mandal, president, Pramod Dharia and secretary, Minal Vakharia, spoke.
