MPDOs asked to report within two days on requirements

SANGAREDDY: Responding to the alarming situation in the district over drinking water supply, the district administration has released Rs. 7 crore for taking up contingency measures.

According to Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Y. Upender Reddy, the amount will be used for deepening and flushing borewells and other related works.

All the Mandal Parishad Development Officers have been directed to tour at least two villages per day and inquire about the water supply and ensure that each person gets at least 40 litres of water per day. “We have directed them to present a report within one week. Depending on the requirement, further steps will be taken up,” said Mr. Upender Reddy.

Meetings

Erratic power supply is found to be complicating the problem further. Power Department officials have been asked to organise sub-station-level meetings immediately under the limits of all the 213 sub-stations involving officials concerned and locals to identify the issues. The issues causing hindrance to water supply will be identified addressed immediately sub-station wise.
