HYDERABAD: The centenary celebrations of the Salesians Society, popularly known as the Don Bosco Society, were conducted at the Hyderabad province headquarters at Kismatpur on the Himayatsagar Road here on Thursday.

The events, which had the society's international president, Rev. Fr. Pascual Chavez, as the chief guest, also saw the inauguration of the Don Bosco Tele Youth Movement, a new venture to bring together the youth around basic human values. Two hundred elected youth leaders also converged here during the centenary celebrations for the launch of the movement, also called Peer Leaders movement.

The Salesians of Don Bosco are present in 11 districts of Andhra Pradesh, reaching out to marginalised youth in 28 institutions, according to a press release.
