Bank ombudsman's advice to customers

WARANGAL: Customers can complain against commercial banks, regional rural banks or scheduled primary cooperative banks and it is easy to lodge complaints and get redressal, said Chief General Manager of Reserve Bank of India Deepali Pant Joshi.

Ms. Deepali, who is also banking ombudsman, listed out the steps taken by the RBI for effective customer service and redressal of grievances. "Ombudsman is a forum to bank customers to seek redressal of their disputes either by mutual consent or passing an award on merits of the case," she said.

State Bank of India General Manager H.C. Patnaik said that the bankers should render best services to the customers and urged the customers to make use of facilities being extended by the banks.

SBI General Manager M. Bhagavantha Rao welcomes the gathering while Regional Manager V. Venkataramana Reddy proposed a vote of thanks.

Officials from different banks and customers in large numbers attended the programme.
