Three-day biennial conference of women's wing of the TDP

RAJAHMUNDRY: Telugu Mahila, a frontal organization of TDP is going to raise prime issues pertaining to women in three-day party biennial conference. These issues include, loans to DWCRA women at 25 paise rate of interest, price rise of essential commodities and vegetables, gas and petroleum prices and total prohibition.

Addressing Telugu Mahila preparatory meeting of Mahanadu here on Monday, state president of women's wing Vanga Geetha said that Rajasekhara Reddy Government has duped women in the name of 25 paise interest and it was applicable to not more than 20 per cent of the women, that too those who are Congress sympathizers.

Essential commodity prices too high

She said both Union and State Governments have no control over prices and essential commodities in far reach of poor and middle class. She recalled that the UPA Government hiked the prices of petroleum products more than seven times in last two years.

Ms Geetha who was a former MP, said that the Chief Minister has conducted different yatras in last three years and the TDP will perform `Anthima Yatra' (funeral) to the YSR Government after the local body elections . She called upon women to teach a lesson to the Congress Government in forthcoming Zilla Parishand local body elections.

She announced that Telugu Mahila wing will introduce three to four resolutions in Mahanadu on the above issues. Telugu Mahila district president Yalla Padma presided over the meeting. Dr. Balasaraswathi, Male Vijayalakshmi and others participated in the meeting.
