Threatens to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission Important TDP members denied police protectionTDP activist detained for three days and thrashed by police
KADAPA: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday accused Kadapa SP Y. Nagi Reddy of being biased towards Congress and demanded that the Government immediately transfer him.
Launching a tirade against the district police machinery, Mr. Naidu told a press conference here this evening that the TDP would lodge a complaint with the Election Commission on Kadapa SP's `one-sided' actions and demand his shifting. Police were terrorising prospective TDP candidates, foisting cases on them and not registering complaints lodged by TDP members, he alleged.
He warned that such actions of police would have long-term repercussions on law and order. Remarks flayed
Andhra Pradesh Police Officers Association district president N. Chandrasekhar Reddy on Tuesday decried Mr. Naidu's remarks against Kadapa SP Y. Nagi Reddy. He advised the former Chief Minister to resist from making political accusations against the police, who were maintaining law and order and ensuring safety of people and politicians at the cost of their lives.
