HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday pooh-poohed the TDP's charge about bogus voting in the elections and accused the latter of resorting to such tactics during its nine-year rule in the State.

Dr. Reddy is understood to have made the remarks when a delegation of Congress MLAs from his home district Kadapa met him on Thursday. Dr. Reddy said TDP leaders were crying hoarse about bogus voting as it was facing a certain defeat.

The Chief Minister reportedly said that the TDP had no right to talk about fair polls when it had put democracy to shame during its rule. Referring to deletion of names from the voter list, he said the State Election Commission had removed 28,931 names only and included 29,000 names.

He compared the last panchayat elections and said repolling was ordered in less number of villages this time.
