VIZIANAGARAM: Re-polling will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in two polling stations on Friday.

The State election Commission has ordered re-polling in Boppadam MPTC (P.S. 49) in Nellimarla mandal and Kallepalli MPTC (Ps-26) in L.Kota mandal following a report sent by the Chief Executive Officer and additional District Election Authority A. Jagadish that ballot papers pertaining to the MPTCs of one polling station got mixed up with other polling stations and the voters cast their votes without noticing the goof-up in both the polling stations. The re-polling was ordered to avoid controversy at the time of counting, the CEO said.

He said that the Collector appointed Revenue Divisional Officer and the District Panchayat Officer as the supervising officers for Boppadam and Kallepalli re-polling.

He said that a sub-divisional police officer along with static and mobile forces was posted at each polling station.

Meanwhile, the poling percentage registered in the election held in the district on Wednesday was 80.02.

Kakinada: Re-polling has been ordered at one more polling booth in Peddanapalli village in East Godavari district, making the total number of polling booths going to re-poll on June 30 to six.

Earlier re-polling was ordered only in five polling booths-No: 51 in Peddanapalli village and no: 30,31,32 and 33 in Lingamparty village, both in Yelesweram Mandal.

According to Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, the highest percentage of votes polled in L.Kota mandal was 86.55.
