97 autorickshaws booked for violation of norms
HYDERABAD: Additional Commissioner of Police A.K. Khan has once again urged parents to see that their children do not travel in autorickshaws which carry more than six children. Mr. Khan said 97 auto-rickshaws carrying more than six children were booked on Monday.
Seven under-aged children driving two-wheelers and 17 school buses were also booked for traffic violations, he said. Parents and other adults visiting schools for dropping and picking up children should also follow safety rules, he cautioned.
School managements too were requested to ensure compliance of traffic safety rules in the vicinity of their institutions by deploying teachers and adequate number of security guards. The traffic police had deployed 687 personnel, including senior officers, to supervise safety and movement of vehicles carrying schoolchildren.
