School buildings to get facelift; focus on quality of education
Kakinada: East Godavari Zilla Parishad Chairman Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna has said that he will accord top priority for improving the quality of education in all ZP schools.
Addressing the first general body meeting here on Sunday, Mr. Krishna said he would be apolitical and strive for all-round development of the district. He said his priorities include facelift to all ZP school buildings and improvement of teaching facilities.
Collector M. Subrahmanyam, who administered the oath of office to both Chairman and Vice- Chairperson, said the district was poised for accelerated development. He said the SEZ would bring prosperity to people of the region. Ministers -- Jakkampudi Ramamohana Rao and Gollapalli Surya Rao -- advised the Chairman to rise up to the expectations of people.
Several MLAs advised him not to give scope for any lapses in administration and take along all members, including the Opposition, with him in his efforts to develop the district.
A majority of them highlighted the need for improving the condition of roads and renovating school buildings. Vundavilli Aruna Kumar, MP, advised him to give thrust to improve the conditions of people below the poverty line.
Thota Naveen, leader of Telugu Desam, assured the new chairman of party's cooperation in the developmental activities.
