Vijayawada: City-based Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Hindu High School Committee has secured ISO 9001:2000 certification from New Zealand-based International Certification Limited for its quality management. The committee runs several educational institutions in the city, including Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana (KBN) College in Kothapet.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, general secretary of the committee G. Mallayya said philanthropists from the Vysya community launched Hindu high school a century ago to spread literacy in the city. At present the committee had several educational institutions where different courses from kindergarten to post-graduation were being offered.
Mr. Mallyya said the college was offering traditional courses like arts and commerce, besides introducing technical courses on a par with corporate education institutions. KBN College was one among the very few colleges in the State that were offering the BCA course, he observed. He congratulated the staff and students of the college for contributing their mite to achieve the prestigious certification. Committee president V. Umamaheswara Rao, college correspondent T. Srinivasu and others were present.
