Audibility started decreasing for K. Devi, daughter of K.V. Satyanarayana Reddy a small farmer of Pentapdu in West Godavari district, after a bout of fever when she was five-year old and the problem is now 95 per cent. Professor and Chief Audiologist of the Government ENT Hospital in Hyderabad V.U. Nandur examined her and suggested to have cochlear transplant by May 10.

She does not come under the Arogya Sri health insurance and only 25 per cent of the expenses would be reimbursed only after the surgery is completed.
