The cases pertain to "deficiency of services"
HYDERABAD: The Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) of Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) has solved two cases pertaining to "deficiency of services".
According to the CGRF Chairperson - Rajkumari Soni of Sultan Bazar registered a complaint stating that power supply was disconnected in September 1994 even after paying Rs.840 as per the cash memo issued by the officials concerned. However, when the consumer requested for `No Due Certificate', he was not issued the same and was asked to pay a balance amount of Rs.15,789 to the end of June-2004.
The Forum after due verification of the records of both complainant and respondents observed that the respondents failed to furnish the basis for claiming the balance amount.
The Forum advised the department to collect dues limiting to the end of January-1995 only if any, as per the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC).
In another issue, the case of D. Manikyamba, a resident of Hubsiguda, was solved wherein the complainant was asked to pay Rs.480 as arrears even when the complainant paid all the electricity bills up to March 2006.
On verification, it was observed that an amount of Rs.50 towards bank charges and Rs.50 towards reconnection fee were levied excess - contrary to the tariff orders prescribed by the APERC. The forum directed the respondents to collect the charges as specified.
