TENALI: Tenali Municipal chairperson Tadiboyina Mastanamma formally launched the renovation and extension works for the Tenali Municipal office, to be undertaken at a cost of Rs.70 lakhs, here on Monday.

According to the plan, the existing building that was built four decades ago would be renovated. Flooring and ceiling were badly damaged in the existing building. There were complaints of seepage of rainwater from many places.

The special grade municipality managed to get Rs.30 lakhs as grant from the Government while the remaining Rs.40 lakhs was granted under the APUSP scheme, Dr. Mastanamma said.

A two-storeyed new building attached to the existing building would also be constructed.

The ground floor would house the municipal offices and the second floor would have an air-conditioned council hall with all modern amenities, she added.
